COURT ADJOURNS SUIT FILED BY LEGAL DEFENCE AND ASSISTANCE PROJECT(LEDAP) AGAINST DEFECTING SENATORS TO 18TH December, 2018.

The action between LEDAP v Senator Bukola Saraki & 54ors filed by the Legal Defence and Assistance Project against the defecting members of the National Assembly came up today before Justice B.O Quadiri of the Federal High Court for report of service.

J.S Okutepa SAN, counsel to the plaintiff informed the court that all parties in the proceedings have been served and a date should be given for hearing of the originating summons. The court obliged the learned Silk and adjourned the case to the 18/12/18 for definite hearing.

LEDAP is suing the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Senate President Bukola Saraki and other members of the National Assembly who defected from the parties that sponsored their elections and is asking the court to declare that their seats have become vacant by virtue of their defection.

None of the defendants have entered appearance or filed any process in this suit.
