Stakeholders seek implementation of Criminal Justice Law in Plateau State

Stakeholders in Jos called for the speedy implementation of the Criminal Justice Law in Plateau State. Addressing newsmen during the stakeholders’ meeting, the administrator of the organizers, Partners West Africa Nigeria, Rotkang Kyunni, said: “The essence of the stakeholders meeting is how to expedite the implementation of Criminal Justice Law in Plateau State which was signed to law in September 2018 by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong. Plateau is one of the first states to have signed the law. That is why we brought the judicial actors together to brainstorm on the implementation of the law.
“They are also the judicial administrators on the Plateau. The three classes of stakeholders are those from the judiciary, prosecutors/investigators and the law enforcement agents. The expectations are that we want the law implemented immediately, and it is supposed to replace the old law. “And in implementing the law, the stakeholders also proffered necessary framework that will enhance the effective implementation of the law,” he said.
