The Jigawa State Government has adopted the domestication of Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) and its implementation slated February 1, 2020.
Addressing a stakeholders meeting yesterday, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, said the domestication of ACJA was part of the state government’s commitment to ensure smooth dispensation of justice.
Musa disclosed that the implementation of the new criminal justice system under Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar’s administration would engender positive change in the state’s legal system.
Insisting that it would not be business as usual, he maintained that enforcement of criminal justice system in Jigawa State would not spare crime and criminality.
He said the adoption was aimed at ensuring speedy dispensation of criminal cases and curb crimes in the state, without compromising the rights of defendants and victims.
